Quilters Unlimited, Inc. (QU) is pleased to present its 41st annual show at Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. QU is a non-profit volunteer organization of people in northern Virginia who are interested in all things related to quilting. QU has more than 1,200 members in 11 chapters. These members include nationally and internationally recognized quilters and fiber artists, as well as quilters of all skill levels. There is no judging at this show, and all members have been encouraged to contribute at least one quilt. All styles and techniques of quilting will be represented. Sorry, only QU members may register quilts for the show. The theme of this year’s show is “True Blue,” and QU members were challenged to create a quilt for the show using any number of blue fabrics paired with just one other color. In addition to this guild-wide challenge, individual chapters will be unveiling their own challenges.
The cost of admission to the show is $10 per person per day or $15 for all three days. Groups of 15 or more people may purchase tickets in advance for $9 per person per day. Interested groups should contact the QU Show Chair. There is an additional cost for classes. The money raised from the show is used to cover show expenses and to support the many service projects that QU members undertake every year.

Calling all QU chapter members! Our Quilt Show continues to be the success it is each year because of your commitment and effort as volunteers. There are lots of opportunities to help out over the four days of set-up, show and tear-down and most assignments are not what you’d call strenuous. Many even allow you to be seated.
To sign up for one (or MORE!) shift(s), please LOG-IN with your Member User Name and Password. Quilt Show Volunteer Coordinator
The QU Show Set Up/Take Down Team is hiring! We need paid workers to help set up and take down this year's show. We would like to give family members and friends of QU members the first chance to sign up for these jobs.
Workers should be between the ages of 18 and 28. They will be paid $12 per hour. Those who work on Wednesday to load the truck, a shift on Thursday, and who work on Sunday evening to take down and load the equipment back into our storage facility will also earn a $25.00 bonus. Lunch will be provided on Thursday, and cold water will be provided for all shifts. Please help spread the word.
Workers need to sign up in advance with Amy Flenniken, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Amy is assisting Judith Sullivan, the set up team chairperson.
The planned work shifts are:
- Wed. May 28: 4:30 to approximately 6:30 pm -- Load the truck
- Thurs. May 29: Morning -- Unload the truck. Assemble poles and drapes for hanging quilts.
- Thurs. May 29: Afternoon -- Hang Quilts
- Sunday June 1: 2:45 pm until completion -- Take down quilts, drapes, poles, and equipment at the Expo Center, load the truck; transfer all equipment to the storage facility and unload the truck.

The Quilters Unlimited (QU) Boutique provides an opportunity for the public to purchase handmade items related to quilting and sewing. Proceeds go directly to the participating QU Chapters to obtain speakers, provide quilting classes, and support chapter outreach activities. The boutique is open all hours of the quilt show for your shopping convenience. We are selling an incredible collection of quilted items and full-size quilts, as well as wall hangings, luggage tags, purses, and more. Tell your non-quilting friends that they will see beautifully crafted pieces at amazing prices. If we charged by the hour for the time it takes to make these handmade items, they would cost ten times the price! Thank you to all of the individuals, bees, and chapters that contributed to the Boutique!
Every year, one QU chapter produces a quilt to be raffled at the show. This year’s raffle quilt was designed and made by members of the Springfield chapter of QU. This year's raffle quilt is gorgeous. If you'd like a peek, click HERE.
Demonstrations and Public Education
Various quilting techniques will be demonstrated by vendors and QU members throughout the three days of the show. Please check back for a schedule of activities.

Program Ad Campaign
Our Campaign for collecting ads for the upcoming 2014 QU Show Program is underway. Advertising in our yearly event is a very effective way to ensure that your business name and information reach a large community of fiber artists in our area and is easily recognized by our extensive membership. If you have advertised with us in the past, thank you and we appreciate your continued endorsement of this special annual event.
Our program reaches a large readership and we strongly encourage members to reach out to local shops, organizations and businesses to advertise in our program. As a special incentive a $20 discount is given to current QU members for ads larger than business card size.
