  What is Quiltalong? We are a bee based on various quilting projects that capture our interest. Members are busy working on a wide variety of projects, and some are doing their own thing. We share a love of quilting, art and one another’s company. We are a supportive and encouraging group. We meet roughly every other week, on Tuesdays, and usually opposite weeks of the month, usually the second and fourth weeks, from FQU meetings, which are the first and third Thursdays of each month.

  FQU will be hosting Barbara Cline for a in-person lecture and trunk show. Barbara is an international quilt designer; author and teacher who loves to share her techniques with others. Barbara started creating quilts in her teens. She has had over 37 years of experience in quilting and teaching classes. She loves to design and piece quilts from her home in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.

  FQU will be hosting Barbara Cline for an in-person workshop at the Burke Presbyterian Church.  She will be teaching her Diamond Chain Star pattern. This quilt measures 41 x 41. 

  Registration fee is $45 and limited to 20 participants. 

  Each participant is required to have a Diamond Chain Star pattern. Patterns can be purchased on Barbara’s website.

  Fun in the Sun - Come join us for an afternoon of friends, lively conversation, great food, and fun games. 

  Menu: lunch provided by Mission BBQ for omnivores and McAlisters for the vegetarians.  Lunches will be either pull pork or chicken with side of coleslaw, Mac & cheese, baked beans, iced tea, lemonade and dessert.

  Deadline for signups and payment is May 30th.  Use this site for credit card payment.  Cash or checks may be mailed with a completed form with to Beth Shafer, 5126 Pheasant Ridge Rd, Fairfax VA 22030.  Checks must be made out to Fairfax QU.
