HaymarketThe Haymarket Chapter of QU is located the furthest west of all the QU Chapters and has members from many surrounding towns and counties (as well as other states). We have a wide variety of activities – some on Zoom and some in person. These include:
We have quilters of all skill levels and types – traditional, modern, applique, hand and machine quilting – everything! We welcome all who are interested in quilting. All activities may vary - check calendar for specific dates/times. Activities take place September - June. Mix of Zoom and In-Person. 1st Thursday: 7:00 p.m. - Program with Speaker (Zoom) Monthly: Workshops - Dates and time vary (Zoom) 3rd Thursday: 1:00 p.m. Early Bird Demos (Zoom/Recorded for HQU Members) 3rd Thursday: 7:00 p.m. Monthly Meeting with Sew & Tell (Alvey Elementary School) 4th Friday: 10 a.m. -2 p.m. Sit & Sew, Warrenton Presbyterian Church, Warrenton, VA Although we have standard meeting times and places, please check the individual calendar of events for the most current information. Haymarket Quilters Unlimited awarded Presidential Gold Volunteer Service AwardHaymarket Quilters Unlimited was awarded the Presidential Gold Volunteer Service Award for our service to the Warrior Retreat at Bull Run in Haymarket Virginia. HQU has been working with The Warrior Retreat since 2019 donating pillowcases, placemats, quilts and Quilts of Honor. In 2022-2023 HQU donated 296 pillowcases, 94 placemats, 15 quilts and 15 Quilts of Honor. During a volunteer luncheon, HQU received a letter from President Biden, a Presidential Certificate and a Presidential Challenge coin.
